Althea Loderick is the strategic director ofRResources in Brent Council where she has strategic oversight of finance and procurement; property and FM; HR & OD; IT; legal services; customer services & registrars and civic enterprise.

Lorderick's role is to ensure the Council’s resources are maximised to contribute to the successful delivery of Brent’s priorities for its citizens and identify new ways of working that both generate income and furthers Brent's enterprising approach.

Prior to Brent, Loderick was the director of HR and transformation at Waltham Forest Council and went on to become the chief operating officer with responsibility for a range of corporate and customer services and delivering the transformation programme.

At Waltham Forest she was the lead strategic management board member for transforming the council’s operating model by leading the organisation design, restructuring and new ways of working to deliver the council’s priorities including the successful achievement of significant budget savings.

She was the senior responsible officer for a series of major change programmes forming part of the Future Council agenda including a whole new approach to the council’s business support services as well as leading the overall transformation agenda under the council’s Redefining Waltham Forest Programme. She has overall responsibility for the programme management and delivery of major corporate change and has lead the change to the council’s culture, structure, ICT, human resources and organisation development to make these changes a successful reality.

Before joining Waltham Forest, Loderick was a service director in a national policing role where she led people strategy and workforce modernisation and change programmes impacting across the policing workforce of almost a quarter of a million officers and staff. Many of the current changes being implemented in policing sat within her remit as the lead for national workforce policy and in this role she was involved in both national and international programmes. Prior to this, she was a deputy director in the National Offender Management Service where she was the lead for among other things, people strategy, workforce change and the HR operating model.

Over her 25 year career, Loderick has enjoyed roles across both local government and large national public sector organisations as well as having worked in organisation development within a private sector consultancy. She is passionate about high quality public services and having spent 10 years of her career as an operational manager before going into HR and OD, remains focused on the ways in which support services should enable the successful delivery of business and organisation priorities.
