Herminia Ibarra is the Cora chaired professor of leadership and learning, and professor of organisational behaviour, at business school INSEAD. She previously served on the Harvard Business School faculty and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Network of Global Agenda Councils.

Herminia Ibarra is a judge for the Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award, and chairs the Visiting Committee of the Harvard Business School. Thinkers 50 ranked Ibarra the ninth-most-influential business guru in the world.

Professor Ibarra is an expert on professional and leadership development. Her most recent book, Act Like a Leader, Think Like a Leader, explains how to step up to a bigger leadership role. Her bestselling book, Working Identity: Unconventional Strategies for Reinventing Your Career (2003), describes how people can reinvent their careers.

She is also the author of numerous articles in the Harvard Business Review, Administrative Science Quarterly and Academy of Management Journal, among others, and writes frequently for business media including The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and The New York Times. She directs The Leadership Transition, an executive programme designed for managers moving into broader leadership roles, and speaks internationally on leadership, talent management and women’s careers.

A native of Cuba, Ibarra received her master’s and doctorate from Yale University, where she was a national science fellow.
