Herminia Ibarra is the Charles Handy professor of organisational behaviour at London Business School

Prior to that she was part of the INSEAD and Harvard Business School faculties.

An authority on leadership and career development, Thinkers50 ranks Ibarra among the top management thinkers in the world. She is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network, a judge for the Financial Times/McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award, and one of Apolitica’s 100 most influential people in gender policy. In 2018 she was the recipient of the Academy of Management’s Scholar-Practitioner Career Achievement Award.

Ibarra is the author of the best-selling Act Like a Leader, Think Like a Leader, which explains how managers step up to bigger leadership roles, and Working Identity: Unconventional Strategies for Reinventing Your Career, which describes the process of reinventing one’s career. Her current research investigates enablers and barriers in the adoption and implementation of cognitive technologies in established organisations.

Author of numerous articles in the Harvard Business Review and leading academic journals, she also writes for business publications including the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times, and speaks internationally on leadership and organisational transformation.

Ibarra received her MA and PhD from Yale University, where she was a national science fellow.
