Tracey Killen became director of personnel at the John Lewis Partnership in 2007
She leads the partnership’s personnel function and is responsible for defining and shaping a distinctive and competitive employment proposition and setting a policy framework that meets the changing needs of the business in the areas of employment, reward, talent, organisational development and CSR. She is advisor to the remuneration, nomination and corporate responsibility sub-committees of the partnership board.
Before this she was John Lewis' divisional board director, responsible for personnel operations within the John Lewis department store division and prior to this managing director at John Lewis Cribbs Causeway. As general manager before this, she oversaw the new build and relocation of the John Lewis Bristol department store from the city centre to the new out-of-town shopping centre.
She joined John Lewis in 1982 as an A-level trainee at Bristol and worked in a number of selling departments. She became staff manager in 1992, and in 1995 transferred to John Lewis High Wycombe as Merchandise Manager.
Killen is also currently non-executive director for Morgan Sindall Group. Morgan Sindall is a leading UK construction and regeneration group operating in both the commercial and public sectors, through six divisions of construction and infrastructure, fit out, property services, partnership housing, urban regeneration and investments.
She is also chair of the Golden Jubilee Trust and was previously a member of the Roffey Park Trustee Board.
