HR magazine, September 16, 2015
Wendy Hirsh is an independent researcher and consultant in employment issues. She migrated to HR via operational research and a PhD in workforce planning, so the issues of future planning and the use of workforce and business data remain a core part of her work.
Wendy Hirsh works as a consultant and researcher/writer/trainer on a range of employment and people management issues. This includes working with and through the Institute for Employment Studies (as principal associate), Roffey Park (research associate), Corporate Research Forum, Kingston Business School (visiting professor), and the National Institute for Career Education and Counselling (fellow and membership secretary).
Her specialist interests are: strategic workforce planning, career development, talent management, succession planning and leadership development. In these areas, she is primarily interested in both organisational and individual perspectives and how they relate to each other, and in how strategies for developing employees link with changing business and skill needs, and also how workforce development is supported by line managers.
